SHC Sirens 2 - 2 SHC Wolves (H)

Gameday: 31st January 2026

By Charlotte Coltman

A Covenant of Ice: The Sirens Hold the Line

The atmosphere at the Surbiton pitch was hauntingly still, like the woods of Forks just before a storm. This wasn't just a match - it was a supernatural standoff between the Sirens and the Wolves. The game had been moved from HW to P1 - everyone knew this was going to be a thriller. As the mist rolled in, we fought to a 2-2 draw, a stalemate that will be etched into our memories for an eternity.

The Blood-Red Moon: A Battle of Wills

The Wolves struck first, their hunger for the goal sharp and predatory. But the Sirens possess a resilience that is not of this world. We fought back, equalising before the half, refusing to let the shadows claim us. The second half was a mirror image of the first - one goal for each side, two hearts beating as one, neither willing to surrender the night.

The Guardians of the Secret

The Resurrection of Tracey: After a year away in the darkness, Tracey returned to us. It was as if she had never left. She anchored our back line with a strength that felt ancient and immovable. To have her back among our coven made the defence feel impenetrable.

Charlotte, the Gatekeeper: Standing between the pipes was Charlotte, our silent protector. She guarded the goal like it was a sacred portal, her eyes tracking every movement of the Wolves. To get past her was to try and catch the wind - impossible and dangerous.

The Guardian - Iris the tall defender in goal - loud, controlled and fearless.

The Hunter, Jenny: At the other end of the pitch, Jenny moved with a terrifying, blurred speed. A striker who was "the danger" personified. Every time she approached, the air grew cold.

Tessa’s Supernatural Pace: Tessa ran with a stamina that defied human limits, a constant blur of motion through the midfield that kept us on the edge of our seats.

The Reach of the Surge: We watched as Surge used those "Go-Go Gadget" arms to snatch the ball from the air, a physical impossibility that kept the game in a constant, agonizing balance.

The Siege of the Second Half

As the light faded, the short corners came like a relentless tide. We descended upon their circle time and time again, our teamwork a silent, telepathic bond. Every pass was a promise; every tackle was a vow. Though the Wolves' defence stood like ancient stone, we never wavered. We moved as one, a pack of Sirens bound by something stronger than just a game.  The Wolves were in the ascendency for the last ten minutes - relentlessly into our D but we battled and kept them out.

"I knew three things with certainty. First, Charlotte was an iron wall in the defence. Second, having Tracey back in our defence made us feel invincible. And third, I would follow this team into the darkest of forests, regardless of the score."

Final Score: Sirens 2, Wolves 2 The Status: Unconditionally and irrevocably united.
