4th June 2025

By Surbiton HC

Surbiton HC is pleased to announce that up and coming GB player Georgie Gardens joins the Women’s 1s squad for the new season following the completion of her studies at the University of Exeter.

A calm and skilful midfielder, Georgie has been a standout player for Exeter and in the Women’s EDP programme over recent seasons, and joined the GB programme at the end of 2024. She has also been part of a successful England U21 cohort, making key contributions as the side of has won medals at World Cup and European level.

Head Coach Dave Beckett says, “We’re absolutely thrilled to bring Georgie into the squad for the upcoming seasons. She’s a player we’ve admired for a while - technically sound, tactically sharp and with the kind of composure you want in a midfielder. Georgie brings energy and intelligence on and off the ball, and I’ve no doubt she’ll add real quality to our midfield unit. We’re looking forward to seeing her settle into team and club.

Georgie is looking forward to getting started at SHC: “I am really excited about joining Surbiton next season. I can’t wait to play in the Premier Division alongside some talented hockey players and make a contribution to the team’s success.”

Welcome to Surbiton, Georgie!
