Darcy Bourne & Sophie Hamilton Join GB Women’s Squad

Young Surbiton duo Darcy Bourne and Sophie Hamilton are midway through their first week of training with the centralised squad having been selected to be part of the Great Britain programme.

Darcy is a familiar face at Surbiton HC having come through the Colts system since joining when still at primary school. She has gone on to be part of multiple national-title winning sides at club and school level as well as excelling in US college hockey with Duke University. It is fantastic to see another former Surbiton Colt making the step up to full international hockey and we look forward to seeing Darcy make her senior debut in 2022.

Sophie has been an exciting addition to the SHC Ladies 1s squad this season and looks set to makes waves on the international stage too with her game-changing attacking skills and eye for goal. With plenty of international hockey lined up for this year, Sophie will hope to add to the four GB caps she played during the 2020/21 FIH Hockey Pro League. She is joined in the new squad by twin sister Olivia.
