Surbiton HC Membership 2014-15We welcome any potential new members throughout the season (both playing and non-playing).
Surbiton HC is the largest hockey club in the UK, with over 1,200 members to date. Our membership comprises international players, social players, vets players, junior internationals, junior social players, social members and non-playing members.
Details of our training schedules, coaching staff and subscriptions are provided on this website. Social membership is available for those who are keen to be involved but do not wish to play hockey. There are numerous other ways to get involved at the Club from volunteering to fundraising, coaching, umpiring etc. Click here to find out more.
It is essential that every member of Surbiton Hockey Club, whether playing or non playing, completes the registration forms and agrees to the terms and conditions of membership (details are on the following pages).
We have separate registration processes for our Senior Players and for our Colts.
Categories of Membership
1. SENIOR MEMBERSHIP (over 18s)
Senior re-registration is from the 1st September 2014 and membership runs throughout the year, providing winter training, coaching and hockey matches, and in the summer, friendlies and evening run-arounds as timetabled. You can register at any time throughout the summer. There are a number of categories for adult members: Full Playing, Goalkeeper, Social, Non-Playing; U25; Student (and first year after graduating); Husband/Wife/Partner. 2. COLTS MEMBERSHIP (6 – 18 years)
The Colts training and playing season starts in September 2015 and runs through until April 2016. SHC offers Colts from age 10 upwards a 1.5 hour skills training session during the week, with games and matches on Sundays. Our youngest members (U7, U8 and U9) in the Junior Academy train only on a Sunday morning, although U9s will be given an option for some weekday training this season too. Training and matches take place in the autumn and spring terms. Additional summer hockey opportunities are offered too and there are regular holiday camps throughout the year although these are payable in addition to the membership fee. A Colts membership at SHC will run for the full academic year. SHC caters for children of all abilities and operates an equal opportunities policy. - Junior Academy (U10s in school year 4 or below and only on Sundays).
- Under 10 – Under 16 (school years 5 to 11, with Sunday matches and weekday training).
- Colts Sixth Form membership ( U17’s and U18’s are registered as Colts Students).
Codes of Conduct and Child Protection
Surbiton Hockey Club is committed to ensuring that all coaches, players, managers, team volunteers and Colts adhere to strict Codes of Conduct, Ethics and Behaviour, both on and off the pitch.
