New Club Captain and SHC “Team of the Year”

Three new Vice Presidents were elected in recognition of outstanding services to the Club: Tom Sheridan, Immediate Past Captain; Rowley Paterson, Honorary Club Auditor for 25 years; Carolyn Llewellyn, Fixtures Secretary for many years
The AGM was swiftly followed by Surbiton HC’s Annual Awards Dinner at 7.30pm, a fabulous black tie event in a marquee adjoining the Clubhouse, with a three course meal and a live band and disco. The evening attended by over 200 members representing all sections of the Club.
The Awards this year were as follows:
Team of the Year: Ladies 1st XI – Winners of the Investec Women’s Hockey League Conference East and promoted to the Premier Division; Investec Women’s Cup runners-up. South regional Indoor champions; Maxifuel Super Sixes Division Two runners-up and promoted to Division One.

Tripp Cup for the Most Improved Young Male Player – Johnny Ruiz
Bik Cup for the Most Improved Young Female Player – Stephanie Addison
Mike Wallace Award for the Club Member of the Year – Mike Anthony. Mike has won grants and awards for Surbiton HC totally £165,000 this year. Without these grants we would not have progressed our investment in pitch re-carpeting, permanent floodlighting and work towards the clubhouse renovations. Thanks Mike!
The evening was excellently hosted by James Lloyd who thanked Nina Dunn for organising the event; Molly Hanson-Akins for running the raffle and Verity Park and her team for running the bar. A special thank you was made to our outgoing Fixtures Secretary, Carolyn Llewellyn for her tremendous work over the past years.
The formal part of the evening concluded with a special presentation of a pair of engraved whisky glasses by Club President, Mark Rye to outgoing Captain, Tom Sheridan as thanks for his outstanding work over the past four years. Tom in turn welcomed his successor, Rob Dunn and wished him every success for the future.
